Here are a few of my favorite Scriptures concerning pottery...
2 Corinthians 4:7-9
"But we have this treasure in Jars of Clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."
Jeremiah 18:5-7
Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel."
Psalm 40:1-3
"I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry." He brought me up out of the horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord."
